Regional Collaboration – Kaylee Wieczorek
Over the last two years, I have worked as an OFC Outreach Specialist, taking part in our team’s daily street outreach efforts. Recently, I have also taken on the role of Regional Collaboration Lead, a position meant to build collaborative relationships and consistent best practices with other outreach teams.
Over the past month and a half, I have met with five different outreach teams throughout the region and state, spanning from Greeley to Cortez. In making these connections, I have found myself filled with awe and appreciation for the dedication of individuals and organizations to meet the needs of the most vulnerable, and to making their communities a better place.
Coupled with feelings of appreciation comes excitement for what greater collaborative efforts could mean (at both the regional and even national level). I am excited to work together to develop innovative ideas. I am excited to make connections that not only deepen our understanding of what other teams are doing but also how and why. Personally, I have also found these conversations to be reinvigorating in my own outreach work. The knowledge gained from these regional collaboration efforts allows us to do better outreach. It pushes us to be more creative and innovative as we work to better meet the varying needs of our community, and make it a safe and welcoming place for all.
